Eva Miquel

Eva Miquel has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. At this stage of her maturity, her proposals take the form of drawing, a discipline in which she was a finalist for the Ynglada-Guillot 2021 international drawing prize. However, video and photography have also been languages explored in her career.
Recent presentations include the solo exhibition “Mutismos” in 2019, and participation in SWAB, Barcelona where she was awarded two Acquisition Prizes. In the same year her work was part of the exhibition “Paisajes líquidos” at La Pedrera Espaci Kreatiu (Subirats, Barcelona). In 2014 she presented the drawing project “A escala 1: 1000” at Untitled BCN, and in 2012 she exhibited “De ida… y vuelta” at the Espacio de Creación Contemporánea de Cádiz, a group exhibition curated by Ignacio Cabrero. In 2006 she presented “Desdendins” and in 2003 “Apnea”.
She has exhibited at ARCO (Madrid, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007), Artissima (Turin, Italy, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005) and DFoto (San Sebastian, 2005, 2007). In 2005 she was a finalist in the video art competition “Ingenio 400. IV Centenario del Quijote” and received an honorable mention in the “Generation 2005” Prize. These awards are in addition to others such as the grant from the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation (Mallorca 2001), the Casa de Velázquez Grant (Ministry of Culture, Madrid 2001), the Vienna Residency Grant (Austrian Ministry of Culture, Vienna 2001) and the AECA (Spanish Association of Art Critics) Prize for the best group of works presented at the ESTAMPA fair, Madrid, 2000. She has participated in LOOP (Barcelona, 2005), the FIB-Arte (International Festival of Benicassim, Castellón, 2007 and 2003) and the Observatory (Valencia, 2003).
In March 2020 she presented the publication “Desde El Agua” with the publishing house Zahorí Books and in collaboration with the Red Cross, which includes her most recent drawings on the stories of Migrantes.
In 2020 she received the Sorigué Foundation Acquisition Award – SWAB Art Fair and in 2021 she received the Carmen and Lluís Bassat Foundation Acquisition Award – SWAB Art Fair, the VEGAP Grant – Aids to Creation, Barcelona and the JUNCEDA 2021 award in the adult and children’s non-fiction book category with the publication “Desde El Agua”.
Her work forms part of important public and private collections including the Lluís Coromina Foundation (Girona), Carmen and Lluís Bassat Foundation (Barcelona), Sorigué Foundation (Lleida), Caja Madrid Foundation (Madrid).
