Leticia Feduchi
Madrid, 1961
Leticia Feduchi’s work stands out for its particular pictorial language that starts from realism. Her painting focuses on still lifes, portraits and, more recently, landscapes. In her still lifes she usually focuses on fruits and vegetables, ceramics and clothing; elements present in traditional still lifes, which are refined to highlight the purely pictorial values they emanate. This gives her compositions a universal character that, nevertheless, is undeniably current due to the particular language of the artist.
The rigor and meticulousness of her technique allow her to explore the tonalities, textures and, ultimately, the light given off by these objects. She illuminates her still lifes with a clear light that gives them an atmosphere of extraordinary vivacity. Leticia puts a great interest in the chromatic sense of her paintings, sometimes creating entire series dedicated to the same color that she treats with an enormous wealth of nuances. She often works with white backgrounds applied in an expressive way, which further enhances the elements portrayed, giving them a greater prominence.
Her personal style, her sensitivity and her refined technique have made her an artist of great value and recognition. Proof of this is the fact that, among other merits, her signature appears on two of the portraits of the winners of the Cervantes Prize of the National Library. She has been exhibiting at Sala Parés since 2019.
