Oscar Tusquets

Architect, designer, painter and writer, Oscar Tusquets Blanca is the prototype of the integral artist that the specialization of the modern world has progressively led to extinction.

Born in Barcelona in 1941, he attended the Escola d’Arts i Oficis (Llotja) and the Cercle Artístic de Sant LLuc from the age of thirteen to nineteen. He graduated as an architect in 1965 at the School of Architecture of Barcelona. As a member of Studio Per, he made the great majority of his projects with Lluís Clotet until 1984.
Although he has been painting for sixty years, he has recently focused on it, exhibiting and giving himself the possibility of acquiring his work. He has done it in the galleries Artur Ramon and Lassaletta in Barcelona, ​​in the Convent de la Misió in Mallorca, in Patrick Domken in Cadaqués, in Room One in London, in the Museu Boca del Calvari, in Benidorm and in La Rambleta in Valencia. In June 2017 he participated with two works at the London Art Biennale.

In 1994 he revealed himself as an essayist with More than debatable. Since then he has published several books with remarkable critical and public success. Among other distinctions, he has received the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts, the National Design Award, the Palme de Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, and the Creu de Sant Jordi. In addition, it has two Ciutat de Barcelona awards, and several FAD of Architecture and Design Delta.

The present exhibition comes from the suggestion of J. A. Maragall in the sense of showing only watercolors focused on a theme: vegetation. Almost all of them are very recent, designed specifically for this room and have never been exposed.
